Travel pollution accounts for over 70% of CO2 at an event.
The demographic of EV owners is wide and varied and as a result, we believe this can only lead to an annual increase in the number of festival goers looking to take their own EV, safe in the knowledge they can fully charge on-site in order to make the trip home safely.
Environmental/sustainable policy is becoming more and more prominent with the Festival/Event sector. Powerful Thinking’s Festival Vision:2025, which was launched through The Show Must Go On report, presented at the COP21 climate change talks in Paris, has brought together over 70 festivals who are working towards cutting their impacts by 50% by 2025.
We’re also proud to be a supplier member of festival industry charity Energy Revolution – which works with festivals, audiences, suppliers and artists to tackle the environmental impacts of travel.
We are currently working with other event organisers and believe our services can help events reduce the environmental impacts of audience travel by encouraging fossil-fuel-free travel to events and therefore help to reduce the overall carbon footprints.
Powerful Thinking is a not-for-profit festival industry think-tank working towards smarter energy management and environmental practices in the live events industry. Find out more: www.powerful-thinking.org.uk
